I am currently a secondary school teacher at a private school in China. My role is to develop and teach curricula in philosophy and critical thinking to students in grades 7-12. I have been employed in my current role since August 2018. For each of my classes, I teach each day, 5 days a week. I have experience developing year-long lesson plans, as well as day-to-day lesson plans.
I currently teach four classes:
Critical Thinking I (7th grade)
Critical Thinking II (8th Grade)
Intro to Philosophy (9th grade)
Honors Philosophy (10th grade and above)
Each class focuses on four key areas throughout the whole academic year:
Cognitive Biases and Reasoning Fallacies
Formal Logic
Philosophy
Formal Debate (Lincoln Douglas and/or Policy Debate)
My philosophical teaching includes, but is not limited to, formal logic, ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of law, existentialism, philosophy of religion, philosophy of mind, epistemology, metaphysics, Buddhism, and Confucianism.
I was even tasked with teaching 9th/10th grade Biology and 9th/10th grade English Composition my first year of full-time teaching! I am a very versatile teacher!
